      An exceptional day in and around Saqqara

      The trip to Dahshour, Memphis and Saqqara was exceptionally good. We were guided by Mrs Maii Saeed who is both a very knowledgeable Egyptologist and a highly skilled guide. Our family group of 11 had members ranging in age between 4 and 80 years! She was, most admiringly able to hold their attention for the long explanations of history, site geography, and interpretation of events some of which took place over 4000 years ago. Her charming skill in mixing the present with the long past, the personal memories with Egyptologist theories captured every bodyโ€™s attention. Our driver was exceptionally skilled, very courteous and most helpful too.

      I thoroughly recommend this tour. My guide, Sara, was knowledgable on all aspects of the Pyramids Complex and more so on the must-see exhibits in the Egyptian Museum.
      I was picked up from my hotel on time, my car was clean and appeared well maintained. I was driven to Giza, my entry ticket was provided to me and Sara brought me all over the complex, including a spot where I could gaze over all three main Pyramids on my own. Believe me, finding a spot where you are alone in Giza is next to impossible. She got me into the complex early enough to beat the main crowd too. I was even offered a camel ride! From Giza I was driven to the Egyptian Museum in Tahir Square. Please note that at the time of writing the museum contents are in the process of being moved to the magnificent new Grand Egyptian Museum – Sara will offer a choice depending on what you want to see. I wanted to see King Tut’s treasures, especially the iconic Death Mask so it was the Old Museum for me. NOTE: you are strictly prohibited from photographing the treasures. Don’t be a dick like some people and try sneak a picture, the security guys will not take it lightly. Again, I highly recommend this tour, you will feel safe, informed and respected.

      I had the time of my life, everything was beautiful and my experience was perfect in Egypt. The people are amazing, to learn the history and immerse myself in it was just one of a kind. Maii was my tour guide and now she is one of my great friends and I am beyond grateful for her. Everything was well planned, from my arrival at the airport, to my housing accommodations, to all the daily activities. I’m a very relaxed laid back traveler and just love to experience the people and learn the history, Maii made everything perfect and we had so much fun together. I am definitely going back to visit Maii and Hend, I walked away from this trip with 2 best friends, an experience of a lifetime and a full heart. And Maii knows all the spots to take those amazing pictures, she’ll advise you on the right money to have for tips and she is so well verse and highly educated, love love love this trip!

      Maii is PHENOMENAL! My mom and I went to Egypt for her birthday. We wanted to shop at the market, and didn’t know if that was part of the tour but Maii was flexible and customized the tour to what we wanted to do. We had a blast. I honestly wished I knew she did multi day tours I would have booked her for the entire week! (She does offer these by the way.) We loved our Henna, and the tea place was cool (this is not included in the tour- so be prepared to pay for it.) We had a blast. Definitely recommend.

      She was knowledgeable and helped us negotiate at all shops which made the experience so much better.

      Highlight of 3 weeks in Egypt

      I spent three weeks in Egypt and my time with Live Egypt Tours was the highlight! They created a customized itinerary based on my schedule and interests. It was amazing! I learned and saw so much. My guide, Maii was extremely knowledgeable. The experience was very educational but she made if fun and entertaining too. Besides the Pyramids (including the ones at Dahshur), Maii took me to the Egyptian Museum, an open air market, and many other notable spots around Cairo. It was so much fun. Walking around Cairo is very exciting and interesting. I saw Cairo in a way I would never have on my own. Don’t try to do it yourself; hire these guys and get the most out of your time in Cairo.

      Traveled to Cairo in June 2021! Booking the tour was extremely easy with no pressure, plenty of options and great communication and flexibility! Once our plan was confirmed, we continued to receive great service from booking to airport drop off! We were greeted with a 5 star service from the train station, traveled in a new very clean mini-van with air conditioner, with a well experienced driver who we were lucky to have for 5 days! The Live Egypt team escorted us to our hotel, waited for our check-in and took us on our first adventure to the Pyramids. We had a great local guide, Maii, who has been working in tourism for many years and has a wealth and passion for Egyptian history! We spent 4 days together and enjoyed all of our time, history lessons, spectacular sites and food! I strongly encourage anyone wanting a great experience from a knowledgable professional, this is the tour for you! If you have time, ask for more in depth tours! Strongly suggest the Great Pyramids, Bent & Red Pyramids, Serapeum of Saqqara, old city tour with the museum & Alexandria! Thanks again for a wonderful vacation and Egyptian experience!

      My wife and I traveled to Cairo and booked a private tour for the pyramids and Egyptian museum. Maii was our guide and she was fun and lively! We enjoyed the knowledge she had to share about the sites. Amazing history. In all we saw the Pyramids, Sphinx, Papyrus shop, and Egyptian Museum. The entry fees were not included to note. Only Egyptian pounds accepted at site entrances. Very cool experience and felt completely safe amidst the global pandemic. Definitely worth booking with Maii!

      Cairo Shopping Tour with Maii

      Whilst in Cairo I had completely forgotten that I had booked a shopping tour with Maii for the 4 of us. Thankfully, we were in our hotel room when she called us. Prior, we were thinking of what we could do that day before our scheduled tour with our tour company began. We can’t tell you what at wonderful and great day we had! Maii was patient in waiting for us to come down to the lobby and then she began our adventure. Maii is a great communicator and SO nice. She asked us if there was anthing specific that we wanted to see. We went to a perfume factory in which we had no intentions of buying anything but ended up buying 6 bottles of perfume oils at a great price. Then we proceeded to a carpet factory – also in which we had no intentions of buying anything but ended up buying a carpet at such a reduced discount because Maii bargained with them for us! Maii then took us to a place to eat – a traditional Egyptian eatery Abou Tarek….what a treat!! At the end, Maii left us with such a wonderful memory that we will always treasure and remember on our visit to Cairo! When we grouped with the travel group (37 people) we told them of our tour with Maii. We highly recommend this to anyone!

      When entering Giza complex you can buy combine ticket ..that include entry ticket to great pyramid mummies room.you will rememberlife long the tidious adventures journey to that room.Must visit boat museum and sphinx. No need to take camel if you not like it. Your guide is enough.

      We don’t do tours usually but I would do any tour with Mia or if you want to go shopping, dining or anything. She was so pleasant, a sense of humor with a beautiful smile and made us so comfortable. Cold bottled water was available every time we came back to the car and the car was very comfortable with good A/C! Plus she knew her way around and of course knew a great deal about Egypt and while she could negotiate with the locals, she was also very appreciative of them. We actually enjoyed our time with her like a friend you would spend time with experiencing new adventures.

      Egypt was just a magical trip for me. I was with two other friends and Maii was recommended from a local friend that lives in Egypt. Maii brought us to visit Giza and the pyramids, she also tailored our trip to include some special places we wanted to visit with no problems. She was a lot of fun to be with and the guided tour was made more memorable by her knowledge and fun facts! She told us many things that we didnt find in the normal touristy guides and was just a real pleasure! She made our trip safe and was a real pleasure. I would not hesitate to book again with her!

He had endless knowledge and was brilliant at answering the hundreds of questions we had! Emad made the day so easy for us – providing lunch, entry tickets, drinks and even rearranging the schedule of the day when we were struggling in the 40 degree heat – which you would never have if you tried to book things separately without a tour guide. We were a group of 4 adults (friends and family) and we definitely would book another day trip with Emad as our tour guide if we came back to Egypt.

      A week in Giza

      I had a wonderful time and met an adorable family that I instantly wanted to adopt. Everything that I thought that I wanted to do ended up being not as important as I had thought.It was a complete adventure from the moment that I got off the plane.Next time, I will bring smaller denominations of my currency. Having only fifties limits where you can spread your tourist dollar around.The traffic was amazing. I could not believe how much smoother traffic was when people use their horns to communicate – rather than people honking in anger. I swear that I did not know the proper use of a car horn until Egypt.People will literally let a tourist have whatever they think that they want, so be careful what you communicate. I approached the saddest, most tired looking horse (by the pyramids) and just wanted to show some love. Somehow it seemed that I wanted to take this poor animal out again. If I could go back in time, I would have paid them to let me just brush the horse.There are many people that do not speak English. My pronunciation of anything in Arabic is horrible.Some tourists made me feel ashamed. If you are going, do not throw your garbage into a vase that is 3000 years old. Do not throw your garbage into the tomb of a 4300 year old pyramid either. Just don’t throw your garbage anywhere. Take it with you and dispose of it back at your hotel or ask someone where you can put it.
